SHINee

SM Entertainment has nurtured talents like Shinhwa, BoA and TVXQ throughout the years. Recently they came up with SHINee (probably the youngest band so far). Onew, Jonghyun, Taemin, Minho & Key make up SHINee. though this is their first attempt at the entertainment industry all the kids ve done a grt job .. its fun to c them on stage dancing n singing.

btw Taemin s the sweetest .. well at 14 he does look so adorable :)

F&N Fruit n Veg

F&N has been coming up with unique flavors of healthy juices like Carrot Mixed Fruit Juice with Wolfberry Juice,Cranberry Pomegranate & Apple Juice etc. Their latest is for the more adventurous: Vegetable n Fruit with Wheatgrass juice. Its made up of Apple, Lime, Mango, Passionfruit, Guava, Pineapple, Banana, Apricot, Carrot, Green pepper, Beet root, Sauerkraut, Celery n Gherkin with Wheatgrass !!!!!!
Now how cool is that :)

About its taste i should says its quite complicated, well has to be given all the ingredients put together .. its kinda sweetly sour with a very tiny bit of bitterness :D

Nyways its pretty tasty n full of energy .. my lastest addition to a healthy breakfast.

Red bean paste

Now this is another of my fav Korean desert. Simply yet yummy !!!!!!

All u need is some red beans, sugar n water :)

Get some red beans (a cup or two) n soak them in cold water for a few hours. Now cook them in a pressure cooker to make it fast or boil them in some water ( this would take longer .. hrs instead of mins) Smash the beans well so that it forms a nice paste. Now use a strainer to remove the peel frm the paste. This part is a bit time consuming n tedious, however the more effort u put in the btr ur desert is gonna taste :) You can add some water to the paste to help sieve. Collect the fine paste, add some water n sugar to it and heat it up. Once it starts to boil keep stirring. After a while it tickens.

If u like it hot go ahead n try or else refrigerate it once it cools down. Top it up with some almond, cashew or any such nuts when serving depending on ur taste.

Skincare - Swimming

A common prblm every body who goes swimming suffers, darkening of the skin or skin irritation. Recently my moms been so troubled by these red rashes that appear soon after she gets off the water .. probably poor water quality or sun exposure s the cause. Looks like the sunblock she was using previously wasn good enough :( Now she s switched to 'Avene Ultra high protection' which seems to be working .. so m guessing the name after all does its job !! So if u ve the same prblm try this product.

For skin darkening an effective homey remedy mommy came up with is to bath with a mixture of besan +sandal powder. The longer u keep it on before washing off, the better. However, am not sure if it ll work on all skin kinds, u d need to try that out !!

ayyooo boreadikunnuuuuuu ..........

Gee .. i guess that s some unusual title for ones first post :) well thats me !!
cant help it either .. 25 n w/o a proper job can make u go crazy ........................

Except for Rainism (thats Rain's totally awesome fifth album released last week) there isn much keeping me going ... unless u consider my new hobby .. Cooking !!!

My latest invention is this Spicy chicken soup which was supposed to be done Korean style .. but instead i ended up inventing my own Korean+ Chinese+ Indian+ American style ending up a total waste of time n ingredients :(
now that was until dad decided to take up the challenge !!
The only prblm was that i used too much chilli even fr me to handle :( poor me. Otherwise m sure it turned out pretty good. So i added some coconut milk to it, which dint realy help .. gee .. now my soup turned out more like some malay curry !!!!
Nyways atlast dad used up my so called soup to make up for the use of chilli powder in his sabji .. how usefull !!
So here it is .. for anybody still interested or bored like me :)

DD's Spicy chiken soup

Chicken pieces 1 ( i used a leg piece, u could decide that urself )
Potatoe 1
Carrot 1
Brocolli few stems
Celery one stem
Onion 1
(U can always add some ginger or garlic if u like)
Soy sauce 1 or 2 spoons
Chilli powder 1 or 2 spoons
Salt ...

Firstly,
Chicken broth:
Boil some water n put in ur chicken pieces .. keep in going ( on light heat) for around an hour .. the chicken pieces would ve been cooked n ur broth is ready .. remove the pieces frm it n now set aside the broth.

Shred the chiken pieces n marinate them in a mixture of soy sauce , chilli powder, salt n a few spoons of chicken broth. Keep it aside for a few mintues.

Veg base:
Cook together one potatoe, carrot, some brocolli stems . Use cerely, parsley etc if u like. Use a pressure cooker to get them cooked faster. Instead u can also jus boil them untill cooked. Now blend them in a blender/ mixer, it ll turn out into a nice paste.

Soup:
Now to the final part.
Heat up a sausepan .. put in some oil (of ur choice)
Fry some Onion.
Pour the chicken broth from before n bring it to a boil.
Now add the marinated chiken pieces.
Once it boils add the veg paste.
Once the whole things boils ur soup is ready .. top it up with some butter/ coriander depending on ur taste.

Now that was the first time i tired writing down a recipe .. hopefully that made some sense :)

* Korean cuisine does not consider soup as a different course n is usually served along with some rice and kimchi. This recipe especially is not an appetiser, but a meal as such :) hence the extra term .. spicy !!
