ayyooo boreadikunnuuuuuu ..........

Gee .. i guess that s some unusual title for ones first post :) well thats me !!
cant help it either .. 25 n w/o a proper job can make u go crazy ........................

Except for Rainism (thats Rain's totally awesome fifth album released last week) there isn much keeping me going ... unless u consider my new hobby .. Cooking !!!

My latest invention is this Spicy chicken soup which was supposed to be done Korean style .. but instead i ended up inventing my own Korean+ Chinese+ Indian+ American style ending up a total waste of time n ingredients :(
now that was until dad decided to take up the challenge !!
The only prblm was that i used too much chilli even fr me to handle :( poor me. Otherwise m sure it turned out pretty good. So i added some coconut milk to it, which dint realy help .. gee .. now my soup turned out more like some malay curry !!!!
Nyways atlast dad used up my so called soup to make up for the use of chilli powder in his sabji .. how usefull !!
So here it is .. for anybody still interested or bored like me :)

DD's Spicy chiken soup

Chicken pieces 1 ( i used a leg piece, u could decide that urself )
Potatoe 1
Carrot 1
Brocolli few stems
Celery one stem
Onion 1
(U can always add some ginger or garlic if u like)
Soy sauce 1 or 2 spoons
Chilli powder 1 or 2 spoons
Salt ...

Firstly,
Chicken broth:
Boil some water n put in ur chicken pieces .. keep in going ( on light heat) for around an hour .. the chicken pieces would ve been cooked n ur broth is ready .. remove the pieces frm it n now set aside the broth.

Shred the chiken pieces n marinate them in a mixture of soy sauce , chilli powder, salt n a few spoons of chicken broth. Keep it aside for a few mintues.

Veg base:
Cook together one potatoe, carrot, some brocolli stems . Use cerely, parsley etc if u like. Use a pressure cooker to get them cooked faster. Instead u can also jus boil them untill cooked. Now blend them in a blender/ mixer, it ll turn out into a nice paste.

Soup:
Now to the final part.
Heat up a sausepan .. put in some oil (of ur choice)
Fry some Onion.
Pour the chicken broth from before n bring it to a boil.
Now add the marinated chiken pieces.
Once it boils add the veg paste.
Once the whole things boils ur soup is ready .. top it up with some butter/ coriander depending on ur taste.

Now that was the first time i tired writing down a recipe .. hopefully that made some sense :)

* Korean cuisine does not consider soup as a different course n is usually served along with some rice and kimchi. This recipe especially is not an appetiser, but a meal as such :) hence the extra term .. spicy !!

  1. lool.. some recipe though !! and pols be kindly advised that 1/2 spoons of chilli powder will make u spit fire !! so u were supposed to add not more than 1/4th of a spoon of chilli.. remember soup is a apetizer and they r supposed to b blan ones... ur idea of mixing chicken broth and veg paste is new though I hav had soups made out of chicken broth separately and veg paste separately =) anyway my appreciation in ur attempt to blog.. The black back ground and the contrasting blue sky has not failed to personify urself... so uncle adding "coconut milk" to it has made it taste more like laksa!!
